Six Eight Missions
A non-profit focused on bringing the ministry of Jesus Christ, both domestically & internationally, through education, mission, and service.
Domestically
In past years we have been very active in Operation Christmas Child, working with Mark, Inc. during Memorial Day in Washington, D.C. at the Rolling Thunder Rally for Combat Veterans, supporting local youth in service mission work in Appalachia, and continue to be active participants in “The Walk to Emmaus” and “Chrysalis”. Currently we are looking to partner with local area organizations (Chestertown, MD and Middletown, DE) and be of assistance in any way needed.
Internationally
To date we have travelled to Sierra Leone, West Africa in 2016 and 2017, with another trip planned in March of 2018. Also, a quick exploratory trip is scheduled for Haiti in December 2017, and a looking out to 2019 we hope to travel with our church to India in 2019.
Education
Currently Six Eight Missions is involved in education, particularly in Sierra Leone, in three distinct areas: Student Scholarships for Secondary School (grades 6-12), University Scholarships, and School/Teacher Sponsorship. To date, we have been able to extend scholarships to 17 children in Secondary School, and 1 University Student. A grant is also being given to the UMC Junior School Macump Banna for teacher stipends, classroom materials, and construction of larger facilities.
Mission
Our mission at Six Eight Missions is to connect people to Jesus Christ in a practical way. Whether that is through scholarships, hands on service projects, food outreach programs, educational grants, or direct financial assistance.
